Father: "Philip ap Elidyr Ddu born c. 1325 married Gwladys (c. 1330) ferch Dafydd Fras (c. 1295) ap Einion Goch (c. 1265) ap Einion Fychan (c. 1235) ap Einion Goeg (c. 1200) ap Rhiwallon (c. 1165) ap Bleddri (c. 1130) ap Rhys (c. 1095) ap Bleddri ap (c. 1065) Cadifor Fawr[26]. He had 3 daughters born c. 1355/1365 (Marged, Crisli and one unnamed)[27] and two sons born c. 1355/1365 (Nicholas and Gruffudd)."^[1]

Awbrey Medieval Line: Dr. Myron Evans' book O Hudd Ei Ddoe, Vole 1 discusses findings of "genealogist and historian Sir Arthur Turner-Thomas on the medieval Awbrey line....He advised that the line back to Thomas Awbrey, Cwnstabl Coch (born about 1299) is authentic and reliable and appears in Bartrum, but before that is not reliable." Although deemed unreliable, the book includes a good overview and discussion of available sources and research, including Janet Ariciu's research.^[2]

The dates for this line have issues because a few generations were omitted from the pedigree given by Theophilus Jones.^[3] Dr. Evans' work appears to validate Jones' pedigree of Thomas "the red constable" Awbrey (b 1299) who married Nest (b 1304), daughter of Owen Gethyn (b c. 1260), and their descendants, starting with Richard, b 1329.^[2]

Locations: One of the categories previously added by the Wales Project - Llandeilo Fawr, Carmarthenshire - appears to be supported only by a citation to an Ancestry Family Tree for "Crusilla".^[4]
